How to Detect APD?

Teachers and parents are usually the first to recognize APD due to poor school performance, and/or discipline issues. APD may be mild or sever, and can be accompanied by hearing loss, or other conditions such as Attention Deficit Disorder, developmental delays, Autism, specific language impairment or Down syndrome, etc. A deficit of the auditory processing can be accompanied by visual processing disorders, balance and laterality issues, sensorimotor issues, etc.

Audiologists or Speech Pathologists are the professionals that usually confirm APD.
